In the summer of 1940, the skies above Britain became the front line.
Outnumbered and facing the threat of invasion, the pilots of the Royal Air Force took to the air day after day against the Luftwaffe. At the heart of the defense was the Supermarine Spitfire—an aircraft whose unmistakable silhouette would become one of the enduring symbols of courage, engineering, and resolve.
From July through October 1940, the Battle of Britain marked a defining moment of the Second World War. Britain held.

At 10:56 p.m. EDT on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped from the lunar module Eagle and became the first human being to walk on the Moon.
More than 240,000 miles from Earth, Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stood on another world while Michael Collins orbited above. It was the culmination of years of extraordinary ambition, engineering, sacrifice, and the work of hundreds of thousands of people who turned what had once seemed impossible into reality.
Apollo 11 was more than a journey to the Moon. It was a defining moment in human history—a demonstration of what can be achieved when imagination is matched by determination.

Because It’s There
At 11:30 a.m. on May 29, 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay stood where no confirmed climbers had stood before—the summit of Mount Everest, 29,032 feet above sea level.
Their achievement was the culmination of years of exploration, failed expeditions, extraordinary endurance, and an enduring human desire to discover what lies beyond the known.
Hillary, a New Zealand mountaineer, and Norgay, a renowned Sherpa climber, reached the summit together as members of the 1953 British Everest Expedition. They remained at the highest point on Earth for only about fifteen minutes before beginning the dangerous journey back down.
The Killian Everest timepiece commemorates that extraordinary moment—not simply as the conquest of a mountain, but as a testament to perseverance, partnership, and the willingness to attempt what once seemed impossible.
